Full Professor in Business Administration and Innovation Management


Andrea Piccaluga is Professor of Innovation Management and Director of the Institute of Management, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. He is President of Netval (www.netval.it), the Italian network of University Technology Transfer Offices since December 2013. He holds a PhD from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and a Master in Technology and Innovation Management from SPRU (University of Sussex, Brighton). He is Associate editor of the R&D Management Journal and Creativity and Innovation Management Journal. He is also member of the scientific board of  the Rivista italiana di Public Management. He collaborates with large and medium-sized companies (Knauf, GE Oil&Gas, Loccioni, Valagro, etc.) in the field of Open Innovation and with the regional governments of Puglia (Arti) and Tuscany in the field of policies for entrepreneurship and technology transfer. He is member of the board of Fondazione Casa Cardinale Maffi (http://www.fondazionemaffi.it/la-fondazione-2). He has published books and papers in the field of R&D management and technology transfer. He is co-author of "La sfida del trasferimento tecnologico. Le universit√† italiane si raccontano" (Springer, with M. Bianchi) and "La gestione del trasferimento tecnologico" (Springer, with G. Conti and M. Granieri). Every year he is co-author of the Netval annual survey about the situation of Technology Transfer from Public Research in Italy. In 2018 he is co-editing with Alberto Di Minin, Rosa Grimaldi and Martin Kenney a Special Issue of the International Journal of Technology Transfer about University-Industry relations in Italy.
