Maral previously worked for Toyota Kirloskar Motor (India) as a trainee in the marketing department, where she dealt with development and innovative strategies. She has a Master’s in Innovation Management from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and the University of Trento. She graduated in Industrial Engineering at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) in Iran.



is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at the Department of Economics and Business (SEAM) at the University of Messina (Italy). He obtained a PhD in Economics and Management of Innovation from the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa, Italy). His main research interests are in innovation management, technology strategies and technology transfer, by both for-profit firms and non-profit research organizations, such as universities and public research laboratories. He acts as Associate Editor for the area of Marketing of the European Management Journal






is a PhD Student in Management at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. Her research activities focus on the innovation of Public Sector, the National Innovation System, and the dynamics of demand side policies. She previously worked for the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) in the office of the Advisor to the Minister on Innovation Policy and Technology. is a Phd Student on Management at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. Economist with a Master of Science on Scientific and Technologic Policy, she has 10 years of experience as innovation researcher and 5 years as Assistant Professor in Innovation & Entrepreneurship. As Assistant Professor at Fundação Dom Cabral – FDC (the best Business School in the South America), she was coordinator of Innovation Research Center (CRI-Minas) where she worked with approximately 15 companies per year. She also was responsible for international network of seven universities from South American to improve the innovation process on this region, called Red Enlaces and the coordination and application in Brazil of Competitivines Ranking from IMD and World Economic Forum.




has been working at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna since 1999, after a degree in Economics at University of Pisa. At the start of her professional career at Scuola, she was a research fellow on issues related to innovation, technology transfer and patenting at public research organizations. She wrote some scientific papers and many scientific reports for regional and national organizations. Since 2001 she was involved in a research on high-tech companies in Tuscany region and on Italian spin-off firms and she collaborated with Netval on the statistical analysis of data collected from the Italian TTOs. In 2010 she joined the team of the Technology Transfer Office at the Scuola. Today she manages the patent portfolio of Scuola; she supports the professors and the researchers in the creation of spin-off firms; she carries out several regional projects in technology transfer development.

Valentina Cucino is a PhD Student in Innovation management at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. Her research activities focus on the relationship between university and industrial sector and the technology transfer in the field of life sciences. Moreover, she is engaged in the study of the economic impact of universities on their local territories. She has a degree in business consulting. She is also keen on entrepreneurship, innovation and marketing. Since 2012 she has been a member of Lisa Lab (laboratory for innovative entrepreneurship and academic spinoffs) at University of Salerno.

is a PhD student in Management at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. His research activities focus on management of innovation, open innovation and business models innovation with a focus on TELCO industries. Nicola previously worked for a consultant society focused on innovation for startup based in Pontedera and for Piaggio S.p.a. as controller. He hold a second level master on management and innovation of services. Three words to describe him, soccer, music and innovation.
